"Control" is an ENT short story published in Star Trek: Explorer magazine. It was written by John Peel, edited by Jonathan Wilkins, and released in February 2023 in the subscriber digital supplement to Explorer, Issue 6. It first saw print publication in Titan Magazines' "The Mission" and Other Stories omnibus in 2024.

Background[]

Strangely, Preston thought of her starship as the USS Enterprise. While it was designated with an SS following its refit to Columbia-class, the vessel never had the prefix USS. Further, accompanying images showed Enterprise in its original configuration, setting the story prior to that refit.
