The Copernicus (NCC-1701-A/3) was a Federation Type-4 shuttlecraft in service to Starfleet in the late 23rd century.
Service history
By the 2280s decade, the Copernicus was assigned to the USS Enterprise-A.
In the year 2287, the Copernicus was used by Captain Kirk, Spock, Doctor McCoy, and Sybok to travel to the planet Sha Ka Ree. During the mission, the Copernicus was damaged by a malevolent creature that inhabited the planet, but was later recovered by the Enterprise. (TOS movie: The Final Frontier)
A few weeks later, the Copernicus transported Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy to the Enterprise when shore leave on Earth had finished. (TOS comic: "The Return!")
