The Copernicus (NCC-1701/05) was a Federation SW7-class shuttlecraft in service to Starfleet in the late 23rd century.
Service history[]
By the year 2273, Copernicus was assigned to the USS Enterprise. (ST reference: Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise)
In February 2274, Copernicus ferried Spock, Doctor Christine Chapel, and an ill Federation Commissioner Audrid Dax from the Enterprise to a rendezvous with the Trill starship Troyval. Unfortunately, Orion pirates damaged the shuttle, and Spock was forced to hide the vessel within the magnetosphere of Rose's Folly III while making repairs. Proximity to the magnetosphere worsened Dax's symptoms, harming the mental links between Trill host and symbiont. Copernicus was heavily damaged and boarded, but eventually recovered by the Enterprise. (TOS eBook: The More Things Change)
