A Council Lord was a member of the Council of Trade, the formal governing body of the Orion Colony world of Daros IV.
Council Lords were drawn from the senior members of the Five Families that dominated the world: the Althori, Kerav, Beldav, Simri, and Keros families. The Lords acted as middle-men for the Council's exclusive trade treaties with Daros IV's richest neighbors.
In reference stardate 2/14 (circa 2273), Imri Keros and Merkos Kerav were two Council Lords, representing their respective families. Imri Keros was the youngest; the Council Lords of the Althori, Beldav and Simri were much older and more cautious, and were annoyed at his youthful recklessness, while Merkos Kerav was openly opposed to him.
