The Council of Trade was the formal governing body of the Orion Colony world of Daros IV.

It was composed of Council Lords drawn from the senior members of the Five Families that dominated the world: the Althori, Kerav, Beldav, Simri, and Keros families. The Council secured exclusive trade treaties with Daros IV's richest neighbors, with the Lords acting as middle-men for all dealings.

In reference stardate 2/14 (circa 2273), Imri Keros and Merkos Kerav were two Council Lords, representing their respective families. Imri Keros was the youngest; the Council Lords of the Althori, Beldav and Simri were much older and more cautious, and were annoyed at his youthful recklessness, while Merkos Kerav was openly opposed to him. The Althori and the Beldav Families worked together to form a majority rule within the Council, which the Simri Family usually sided with. (FASA RPG module: Orion Ruse)
