Courier clones and .

Courier clones Lyssa-1 and Lyssa-2.

Courier clones were genetically engineered human clone diplomats who served alongside the original official in the Federation's Diplomatic Courier Corps in the late 23rd century.

Specifics[]

A pair of such clones were grown from the brain tissue of a volunteer diplomat. Together with the donor, the three envoys were able to deliver sensitive information in a unique way. Before being sent on a courier assignment, each had one-third of a message genetically-encoded into their DNA. Decoding was possible when all three were reunited at the destination. Bred to be stronger than normal humans, the clones sometimes experienced prejudice when encountered in the 2270s decade.

History[]

In 2279, Montgomery Scott’s nephew Brian volunteered for this duty, but died during the cloning procedure.

Eight months later, Lyssa and her clones Lyssa-1 and Lyssa-2 were encoded with a private peace message for the Sangdor Principality in hopes of ending their hostilities with the Federation. Lyssa was sent separately from the clones, who traveled aboard the starship USS Enterprise. (TOS comic: "Send in the Clones")
