Cube 632[1] was a Borg starship, a cube in Collective service in the 24th century.

History and disposition[]

Cube 632 was first encountered by the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D in the year 2365 at system J-25, where the Borg began to infiltrate the Starfleet vessel. When Captain Jean-Luc Picard openly asked Q for help, the entity returned the Enterprise to Federation space this cube pursued, arriving at Federation borders over a year later, in late 2366. (TNG episode: "Q Who")

It encountered USS Ephemeris, assimilated it's crew and left it adrift in space. USS Dorcey was send to investigate Ephemeris disappearance soon after. During and encounter with the cube, Dorcey crew was able to disable the cube's warp drive by puncturing its warp plasma coolant tanks, destroying several Drones in the process. Because the cube was temporarily disabled, the Dorcey was able to escape assimilation. (ST board game: Cryptic)

Later, the cube again encountered the Enterprise, and, after flushing the Starfleet ship out of the Paulson Nebula, assimilated its captain, Jean-Luc Picard, before continuing on a course of Earth. On its way there, it managed to completely overrun all defenses, including a hastily assembled fleet at Wolf 359, which, thanks to the tactical knowledge gained from Picard, the Borg almost completely decimated. (TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds", DS9 episode: "Emissary", Star Trek Adventures RPG module: Core Rulebook)

During the battle, the Doctor, and his companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams materialized aboard the cube to download a copy of the Borg executive library, required to thwart a Cyberman victory two years later. Though Amy wished to prevent the Battle, the Doctor sadly informed her that it constituted a fixed point in time. The Enterprise managed to catch up with the cube and rescue Picard, whose freshly gained insight into the Collective allowed the Starfleet crew to destroy the cube when it arrived in orbit of Earth. (TNG - Assimilation² comic: "Issue 6")
