Cyrus Brody was an inhabitant of Nantucket Island.

Brody was a close friend of Benjamin Maxwell's mother. When she died in 2383, when lightning hit her house, Brody met with Maxwell when he visited the scene. Brody thought it better for Maxwell's mother to have died that way, rather than from complications due to her old age. Maxwell's mother was one hundred and twenty-seven when she died. Before Maxwell left, Brody offered him a room at his home, an offer that Maxwell declined, citing how cold he found Nantucket now. Brody suggested that Maxwell return to space, commenting that there were other positions available other than command.

Brody was regarded as the best fisherman on Nantucket, as well as being an excellent piano player, capable of playing classical works by Brahms, to drinking songs and songs by Elton John. (DS9 novel: Force and Motion)
