Cytherius

Cytherius was a planet in the Duran system, located in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

In 2274, after preparing the USS Icarus for an extra-galactic journey, the starship USS Enterprise's next assignment was to meet with the governor of Cytherius. Shortly after establishing orbit there, however, Spock received a telepathic distress call from Commander Janice Rand aboard Icarus. James T. Kirk canceled the meeting with the governor and diverted the Enterprise to rendezvous with Icarus in the Ilyria system. (TOS comic: "Eclipse of Reason")

The world was unrelated to the Cytherian homeworld, which was 30,000 light years from the Argus Array and home to the advanced Cytherian civilization.
