The D'Naali were an insectoid race from the Gamma Quadrant. The D'Naali had often been in conflict with the Nyazen.
In the year 2376, the D'Naali Ryek'ekbalabiozan'voslu guided the crew of the USS Defiant and assisted them when Julian Bashir, Ezri Dax and Nog were all affected by a structure that Ryek'ekbalabiozan'voslu called both a "cathedral" and an "anathema". The relationship between the crew of the Defiant and the D'Naali soured when the D'Naali demanded the crew provide them with transporter technology. When Elias Vaughn refused, Ryek'ekbalabiozan'voslu was transported off the Defiant. After the situation was resolved, Vaughn noted in his log that he hoped that one day the Nyazen and the D'Naali might make peace and invite the Federation to study the structure.
