In the Kelvin timeline, the D'vor class was a 23rd century Ferengi starship class, a survey vessel designed and constructed by Urata Manufacturing in the 2260s decade. (ST video game: Fleet Command)

History and specifications[]

In the 2250s, the Ferengi were relatively unknown to the Federation. (TOS - Starfleet Academy novel: The Delta Anomaly, TOS - The Q Gambit comic: "Part 3")

From stardate 2262 onward, however, the Ferengi became involved in the disputed Neutral Zone area of local space, situated between the Federation, Klingon Empire and Romulan Star Empire. A war between the galaxy's major factions was identified as a profitable opportunity by the Ferengi.

After becoming involved, the Urata Manufacturing developed the D'Vor survey vessel specifically to cheat the Latinum exchange, due to being configured to extract raw latinum from asteroids with its mining drill laser.

By default, the ship had a warp factor of 2.1, with a range categorized as level 18. The impulse engines generated a speed rated 90. It was armed with phaser beam arrays and photon torpedo launchers. The hull was protected by armor underneath the protective bubble of the deflector shields.

Urata Manufacturing made the D'Vor class available to Independents - combatant groups or individuals not officially aligned with the major factions. For an Independent to build a D'Vor at their starbase, 120 individual blueprints were needed. Once in service, the ship could be upgraded to improve its cargo capacity, speed, range, weapon numbers and strength, and other systems.

The artificial intelligence Maia deployed at least one D'Vor survey vessel from her Home Station. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
