D'deridex (or D'Deridex) is a star with an associated star system.
History and specifics[]
A class F yellow-white star, D'deridex is located in the space of the Romulan Star Empire in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. (ST references: Star Charts, Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library)
D'deridex could be visually seen from Space Station KR-3. In the year 2311, Elias Vaughn stood in front of a viewport on the space station and tested his memory, naming all the major stars he could see in Romulan space. (TLE novel: Serpents Among the Ruins)
- This star was possibly named for a former Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire, D'deridex, but this was not specifically established. An alternate interpretation would be that the praetor was himself named for the star.
- While no further data on the star's system is available, it is known to have inhabitation of some kind. In the reference book Star Charts, the star's name is capitalized, indicating that there is something of note in the system, although this does not specify whether the star had a space station or one or more inhabited planets. In that source, uninhabited star systems were marked by the lowercase. The Star Charts graphics also described this as a singular star, without any binary star companions.
