This page details a counterpart of D'ama class in the Kelvin timeline; for the D'ama class in the primary universe see D'ama class.

The D4-class was a small type of patrol ship used by the Klingon Imperial Defense Force in the late 2250s decade of the Kelvin timeline. (ST movie & novelization: Star Trek Into Darkness)

Service history[]

In the year 2259, three of these ships were on patrol in the Ketha Province on Qo'noS. They then came across a K'normian trading ship carrying a team from the Federation Starfleet starship USS Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk. (ST movie & novelization: Star Trek Into Darkness; ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia)

Several of these ships engaged the USS Yorktown, commanded by Admiral Isaac Garrett, in defense of the Sphere Builders' constructs within the Delphic Expanse. They were defeated by Starfleet with the assistance of a Federation Alliance starship from the year 2410 of the primary universe, guided by Temporal Agent Timot Danlen. (STO - Future Proof mission: "Terminal Expanse")

In 2263, several of these ships accompanied the IKS Chonnaq to the Artel system and attacked the Enterprise. (TOS - Manifest Destiny comic: "Issue 2")

Specifications[]

The D4 was armed with 2 directed energy cannons that were on top of the wings near the fuselage. Despite it's size, the D4 was highly maneuverable. It was capable of atmospheric flight and planetary landing. (ST movie & novelization: Star Trek Into Darkness; ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia)
