The Daeinos-class warbird was a type of heavy destroyer warbird starship fielded by the Romulan Republican Force in the early 25th century. (STO - From the Ashes mission: "Explore the Flotilla")
Technical data[]
Like most Romulan starships the Daeinos-class featured a standard cloaking device.
The class's dynamic tactical system allowed it to vary its geometry between a standard regenerative mode, under which it could emit a tachyon inversion beam and drain the deflector shields of multiple targets, and a tactical mode, enabling a "plasma lotus" for offense. (STO website: Legacy of Romulus: Legacy of Romulus Dev Blog #33)
The Daeinos-class was the first Romulan Republic starship whose hull material was Veteran by default. (STO - From the Ashes mission: "Explore the Flotilla")
Considered a success, Romulan Republic shipyards developed the next iteration of the heavy destroyer warbird and launched the tier 6 Dinaes. (STO website: Season 10: Iconian War: Star Trek Online: New T6 Veteran Destroyers)
At Allied shipyards, components between the Daeinos and Dinaes classes were interchangeable. (STO - From the Ashes mission: "Explore the Flotilla")
