Dalal was a female Human in the late 23rd and early 24th centuries. In the early part of the 24th century, she lived on Deneb V, and was employed by Nu'man al-Halak. Following the death of Halak's wife, he hired Dalal as a secretary, housekeeper and nanny to his two sons, Baatin and Samir. Dalal was a positive influence on young Samir, who was ten at the time his mother died, taking care of him and insisting he attend school. After the death of Nu'man, Dalal became the sole guardian to both boys.

At some point before Nu'man's death, Dalal also became guardian of a young girl named Arava. Arava remained a significant concern of Dalal's into her adulthood, because of her involvement with the Asfar Qatala crime syndicate. When Arava became re-involved with their operations on Farius Prime in 2333, Dalal moved to that world also, to a home on Gemini Street in the Kohol District, to keep an eye on her. By 2336, she'd become so concerned that she called Samir (by then a Commander in Starfleet), to Farius Prime to try and convince the young woman to leave again. Samir was viciously attacked on his way to see Dalal, but she was able to save his life.

Shortly after, Dalal was killed in what reportedly appeared to be a break-in and robbery. (TLE novel: Well of Souls)
