A damage report is a type of report, given either verbally or in writing, which summarizes damage sustained by a starship or space station to its technological systems, sometimes due to combat.

History and specifics[]

The commanding officer typically asks for a verbal damage report after the damage has been sustained, but also has an overall damage report prepared by the first officer after the fact.

During the USS Constitution's battle with N'shaii satellites in orbit of Sordinia IV in 2257, Lieutenant James T. Kirk received numerous damage reports regarding the state of their deflector shields and damage to various decks. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Constitution)
