Daniel Boone (17341820) was a Human explorer and hunter whose North American frontier exploits made him one of the first folk heroes of the United States of America. He was most famous for his exploration and settlement of what became Kentucky. In 1775 Boone blazed the Wilderness Road through the Cumberland Gap.

Neelix came to identify Daniel Boone's role in Human history, however he believed the name to be spelled Dan'l Boone. (ST reference: Star Trek Cookbook)
