Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Danula II (also referred to as Dalula II) was a planet, the second planet in the Danula system in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrant which was the site of the Starfleet Academy Marathon. (TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds")

History and specifics[]

Danula II's climate was quite hostile, and it had not been the home to native life for over one hundred thousand years. It was chosen as the site for the marathon by Sharifi, who may or may not have crash landed there as a child. (ST - New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "The Footfalls of Tradition")

Captain Nikolas Kyprios was fond of recreating the Academy Marathon he participated in on Danula II as a holodeck program. (DS9 novel: Saratoga)

It was cited as a Federation member world in 2372. (ST reference: Star Charts)

First Splinter timeline[]

Danula II was one of the worlds destroyed by the Borg during their mass invasion of the Federation in 2381. Among the surviving evacuees of that world were a young Human woman named Peggy and her infant son, Matthew. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace)
