In one timeline where Picard had died, Commander Data became William T. Riker's first officer. (TNG novel: Headlong Flight)

Other realities[]

In some versions of reality, the Enterprise-E or other versions of it were commanded by Captain Data or Captain Data Soong. In others, he survived the 2379 encounter with the Scimitar. (TNG novel: Q & A)

Only a torso-less head remained of Data on an Earth conquered by Romulans in the 23rd century. It was hardwired into Geordi La Forge's skull to allow the engineer to see. (TNG comic: "Deviations")
