DeCandido was a 24th century Human man, an ensign who served in Starfleet aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D and USS Enterprise-E under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

Biography[]

In 2369, Ensign DeCandido served as a security officer on the USS Enterprise-D. He and Ordover responded when Picard requested a security team while giving two Pelavian ambassadors a tour of the ship. Picard hallucinated that Deanna Troi was being assimilated by the Borg, and ordered them to shoot her. Both drew phasers, but neither fired, as they couldn't see any threat. (TNG - The Amazing Stories short story: "On the Scent of Trouble")

In 2374, DeCandido worked as a transporter operator on the USS Enterprise-E. While manning transporter room five, he informed Reginald Barclay that Geordi La Forge wanted an experimental magneton pulse generator brought to him in engineering. After delivering it, La Forge asked Barclay to see if DeCandido needed further assistance. (TNG - The Q Continuum novel: Q-Space)

DeCandido was named after Star Trek author Keith R. A. DeCandido.
