Deep Space Station K-2 was a frontier outpost in service to Starfleet in the early 23rd century. This station's class was a predecessor to the class represented by Deep Space Station K-7. Sometime in the service career of K-2, the space cruiser Bonaventure visited this space station. (ST reference book: Ships of the Line)

This station was identified by Meni, the artist who created the image.

Deep Space Station K-2 was decommissioned sometime prior to the mid 24th century, and the facility sold to a consortium of investors, who converted it into the Starlight Casino and Hotel. (CoE eBook: The Art of the Comeback)
