Description[]
- After the classified information she stole from the Klingon High Council fails to earn back her favor with Romulan intelligence, Commander Sela is forced to take drastic action and turns back the clock — literally. But what was supposed to be a surefire plan to correct her failed coup over the Klingons quickly spirals into chaos when the technology malfunctions and sends her to a devastated war-torn past with the last person Sela ever wanted to see again — her mother, Tasha Yar.

Appendices[]
Related media[]
- TNG episode: "Legacy" – Canon mention of the Carnelian minefield incident described in the comic.
- TNG episode: "Skin of Evil" – Sela recalled Natasha Yar's "pointless death".
- ST - Day of Blood comic: "Part 5" – Sela extracted intel from Martok aboard the USS Theseus.
Background[]
- The story took place during the events in Another Piece of the Action. It began with Sela departing the USS Theseus as seen in Day of Blood, Part 5, and ends with her setting course for the USS Defiant, to arrive during the events of Hell Is Only a Word.
- The minefield incident was also featured in TLE novel: The Buried Age. In that account, Yar was attached to the USS Victory and reported to Captain Marien Zimbata in October 2263. In the comic, she was attached to the USS MacMillan and reported to Lieutenant Commander Yousafzai. Sela thought it was 19 years prior, circa 2259.
- Sela's interrogation of Martok was labeled as occurring "weeks after the Day of Blood". It actually took place right after his surgery that day, as seen in Day of Blood, Part 5, page 19.
