Delleren V was a planet, the fifth planet in orbit of the Delleren star system, located within Area KZL-1456 of the Klingon Empire in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. It was the homeworld of the developing Dellri civilization and was occupied as a Klingon farming colony.
Specifics[]
It had a normal atmosphere and generally temperate climate. Surface minerals included 3% radioactives, 14% gemstones, and 17% industrial crystals. Klingons fortified the outpost with limited ground-based defenses, including a communications/sensor station on the outskirts of the capital city.
Delleren's capital city featured a marketplace, the governor's palace, marine barracks, and an agricultural storage and processing center. Two additional processing facilities were placed several hours' travel from the city. (FASA RPG module: The Natural Order)
History[]
Around the turn of the 2250s decade, Klingon forces occupied the planet and established a civilian governor as planetary ruler. The native Dellri, a passive agricultural species, were unfazed, and accepted training on advanced farming techniques to increase their productivity. The planet's chief crop was qala, a fruit harvested primary for making wine.
In the early 2270s, Aluz zantai-Lerrax was installed as the world's civilian governor. The occupation force numbered 240 Klingons, including a peacekeeping force of 100 Imperial Marines and 10 guards for the governor. Klingons considered it a backwater planet.
As a matter of routine, at some point Imperial Security assigned agent Avarn vestai-Levest to covertly monitor the government. In 2282, one of the processing centers experienced an equipment malfunction. Avarn found out that the governor suspiciously concealed evidence of sabotage, and alerted his superiors. Three weeks later, a D7-class Klingon battlecruiser was dispatched to the planet to investigate further. The day before the cruiser arrived, an explosion at the second remote plant killed several people, and a third act of sabotage injured some of the ship's officers during an inspection. Apparent political unrest led to the replacement of the planet's civilian leader with a military governor on reference stardate 2/1809. (FASA RPG modules: The Natural Order, Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update)
