Denar is a star system located in the galaxy's Sagittarius Arm, somewhere in the space of the Delta Quadrant. The system possessed an asteroid belt.

History and specifics[]

According to Neelix, the system was in disarray until the seven representative from various worlds in the system gathered to form a coalition known as The Order who brought social and technological enlightenment to the system's population. Unfortunatly this all came to an end after the invention of a device that eradicated all life in the system.

Upon visiting the system the Federation starship, USS Voyager found one of its planet rejuvenated.

A Vidiian hospice was located in one of the neighboring stellar clusters. (VOY comics: "Relicquest, Part One", "Relicquest, Part Two")

Background[]

In TOS video game: The Rebel Universe, Denar was one of the star systems pulled into the quarantine zone. However, all of those systems were accessible to the USS Enterprise by what seemed to be normal warp speeds, indicating they were in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. It is unknown why a Delta Quadrant world would be represented, although The Rebel Universe was authored many years before the premiere of Voyager and the definition of the quadrant system. It is possible there is a second, local system coincidentally named "Denar", or that the Klein sphere effect or the technology of The Order contributed to moving this system to a different location.

As described in The Rebel Universe, Denar was near the borders of the Federation, Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire, located in the galaxy's Sagittarius Arm, located at quarantine coordinates 26.15.50. Denar was identified in the gameplay manual, specifically as being the location of a miscellaneous technology acquisition.
