Deneva Deception was a role-playing adventure for FASA's Star Trek: The Role-Playing Game. It was the second of eleven licensed adventures published in FASA magazines, one of three written by Stardate Magazine’s editor Dale L. Kemper. In this module, the owner of a luxury yacht is being held for ransom.
Description[]
- This adventure can be played with the crew of the USS Enterprise or any other major Federation starship. It is suitable for one-session play or for the inclusion in an ongoing campaign... Players could also decide to play the senior officers of the Immaculata.
Summary[]
While in orbit of Deneva for shore leave and maintenance, the USS Enterprise is notified of the kidnapping and ransom of Onto Rantura, a key figure in Deneva's economic recovery following the 2267 blastoneuron invasion. He is being held aboard his private luxury yacht Immaculata by the vessel's captain, Rolf Rendell, who demands that payment be brought aboard via shuttlecraft within four hours.
Deneva officially asks the Enterprise for assistance, as they are the senior Federation representatives present in the system.
- Subsequent events depended on gameplay. The module includes deck plans for the yacht and detailed backgrounds for most of her crew.

- Character errata was provided in Stardate Magazine #3/4.
- Although the module said a few years had passed since the blastoneuron infestation, the later-published "Regula-1 Orbital Station Deckplans" established that, in 2267, Rantura Shipping Lines signed a profitable contract with Starfleet for the R1 Invictus-class space station. The events of "Deneva Deception" would have occurred prior to signing that deal.
