Derek Fried was a male human and was the shipmaster of the Palombo - a ship given to the governor of Cestus III. Governor Nanietta Bacco was the seventh consecutive governor that Fried had served under. In 2379 Fried took Bacco and her campaign crew to Earth to begin campaigning for the special election for President of the United Federation of Planets.
