Lieutenant Commander Dexter Remmick was a Starfleet officer, attached to the Starfleet Inspector General Office in the 24th century.

Biography[]

In the year 2364, Remmick was sent to the USS Enterprise-D to interview Captain Jean-Luc Picard and his crew, to determine if there were any problems with Picard's command decisions. Remmick faced strong opposition from the crew, due to the thoroughness of his investigation. Ultimately, Remmick found nothing wrong with Picard or any other part of ship operations and even expressed a desire to serve aboard the Enterprise when his tour of duty in the Inspector General Office was concluded. (TNG episode: "Coming of Age")

Later that year, Remmick became host to a bluegill Spawnmother which grew to inhabit most of his body. He was killed when Picard and Commander William T. Riker phasered him to circumvent the parasite's activities. Ironically, Remmick's death was due to the very same parasite infestation he was originally sent to investigate. (TNG episode: "Conspiracy")
