Diogenes (~404 – 323 BC) was a Human man who lived in the 3rd century BC. He was a founder of the philosophy of cynicism and known for his ancient search for an honest man.

Legacy[]

The planet Diogenes may have been named in his honor.

In the 23rd century, there were stories about a "modern Diogenes" in search of "someone special", a story heard by both James T. Kirk and Leonard McCoy. They speculated that the story might refer to Stavos Keniclius or perhaps to his clone Stavos Keniclius 5. (TAS episode & Log Two novelization: The Infinite Vulcan)
