Diplomat pudding was a type of pudding dish once served at formal occasions on Earth, topped with a wine sauce.

History and specifics[]

It originated as the solution to a kitchen crisis at the White House in Washington, DC in the 19th century. When a dessert failed during a diplomatic state dinner, the First Lady asked the cook to slice some existing bread pudding into small portions and cover them with a wine sauce. Apparently a hit, it was soon served in lavish dining halls.

In the 2260s decade, Nurse Christine Chapel adapted the pudding for the USS Enterprise's food processors. Her recipe, similar to lemon bread pudding, was encoded using white bread, butter, milk, eggs, lemon extract, and sugar. It was topped with a sauce made from whipped cream and rum.
