The spore drive (a slang term referring to a displacement-activated spore hub drive) was a type of propulsion system that Starfleet experimented with in the 2240s and 2250s. The spore drive was tested on the USS Discovery and the USS Glenn. (DSC episode: "Context Is for Kings")
