Disruptor cannon

A Disruptor cannon was a type of cannon-style disruptor weapon, a disruptor-based directed energy weapon system.

History and specifications

Disruptor cannons could be mounted on spacecraft, aerial vehicles, space stations and asteroid or ground-based outpost installations, as well as smaller man-portable hand-held weapon variations providing a heavier alternative to disruptor rifles and hand disruptors. Ship-mounted disruptor cannons could provide more concentrated burst fire compared to typical beam-firing disruptor banks and disruptor arrays.
