Diver was a female Human in Starfleet in the 23rd century. As of 2296, she held the rank of Lieutenant junior grade, and was assigned to the USS Intrepid II as a geologist. In that year, she was part of the Intrepid team to beam down to planet Obsidian to investigate the apparent incidents of sabotage to the Starfleet mission there. While stranded in the Obsidian desert with three other officers, Diver diverted their attention from their situation by telling an old folk tale, "The Tale of the Three Princes of Serendip".
