Dr. Faustus was the stage name of a magician who wore a devil costume as part of his act.
Biography[]
In the year 2269, he gave a magic performance on Starbase 13 which was attended by some of the senior staff of the Federation starship USS Enterprise, who were on shore leave. After sawing a woman in half and putting her back together, the magician then appeared to summon hideous demons from out of a mist. The magician, the demons and the mist all vanished after audience member Gilla Dupree panicked and shouted at the demons before passing out. (TOS novel: Devil World)
