Donatu VII was an inhabited planet, a class M world located in the space of the galaxy's Donatu sector and Eta Eridani sector block.[2] It was the seventh planet in orbit of the Donatu star system, and in the 3180s decade, hosted an initially secret colony of couriers. (DSC novel: Wonderlands)

History and specifics[]

During the Federation-Klingon War of 2405-2410, the Donatu system lay in the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone, an area of heavily contested between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Neutral Zone Diplomacy")

In 2410, Lieutenant Commander Paul Stamets led a Khitomer Alliance mission to nearby Donatu V to install defense satellites around a lunar spore colony. Elachi attacked the Donatu system in waves during the deployment but were forced back. (STO - J'Ula's Discovery mission: "Sentinels")

In the aftermath of the Burn, couriers established the courier settlement on Donatu VII's surface. The colony was kept out of sight of the interstellar community, to serve as a safe haven for the families of couriers. In 3188, the colony was led by Katerina. To build up a defense against the expansionist White Palm cartel, the courier settlement became public and a mercantile exchange was opened on Donatu VII.

The people of Donatu VII later followed Cleveland Booker through a transwarp tunnel to repel a White Palm invasion of the former Federation Spaceport Devaloka. (DSC novel: Wonderlands)
