Doris L. Evanofski was a 23rd century Human woman, a medical doctor who served in Starfleet.
Biography[]
Evanofski preferred to be called "Doc Doris" or just "Doc" and gave the impression of being a folky physician. However, she was an expert human doctor who earned professional-level qualifications in human psychology, Vulcan medicine, and Andorian medicine. She also took intensive training in zoology, ecology, and botany. Outside of the sciences, she was also an expert in unarmed personal combat. She tended to be sarcastic and outspoken, but also genuinely friendly.
Starfleet awarded her a Starfleet Citation for Conspicuous Gallantry for her contribution to a harrowing rescue mission in space.
By the 2260s, she was in her 50s and felt like she wouldn't remember how to aim a phaser, but was still an effective fighter. In the 2260s, she served as the CMO of Genetics Research Station 17 on Aleph III. She took young security officer Corie Navarti under her wing.
In 2270, Evanofski was extremely saddened to learn that the Federation chose to evacuate the facility. She joined station personnel and a USS Enterprise landing party in repelling a surprise raid by a group of Klingons led by Captain Koloth, who were trying to steal the the station's animal specimens and research notes.
