"Dove" is a Star Trek Online short story by Christine Thompson, appearing in Star Trek Magazine #177 UK/#50 US in July 2014. It was the 11th of 20 stories set in the STO continuity that were published in Star Trek Magazine between 2012 and 2016, the seventh of ten by Christine Thompson, and the 11th of 16 collected in Titan Magazines' STO omnibus: The Short Story Collection in 2022. The story was an adventure aboard the successor Aquarius-class light escort USS Aquarius II.

Shon recalled recent events in which Chancellor J'mpok ordered a cease fire between the Federation and Klingon Empire, and Shon destroyed the prototype USS Aquarius in combat with an Undine planet killer to save Qo'noS.

Background[]
- Kyona reported no confirmed sighting of Beta XII-A entity since the 23rd century. However, in the 24th century it did appear in the stories DS9 - Millennium novel: The Fall of Terok Nor and ST - Tales of the Dominion War short story: "Night of the Vulture".
- This entity was not confirmed to be the same one that Kirk encountered, with Tem Inasi mentioning the likelihood that it might be another of its species.
- Tem Inasi cited stardate 9024.7 as the date when Beta XII-A was first quarantined. While no date was established in canon, the fotonovel adaptation provided a stardate of 3372.7 for the events of "Day of the Dove".
