The Drexia-class was a small Talaxian starship class, a freighter and salvage ship in service in the 24th and 25th centuries. While the Talaxian homeworld was conquered by the Haakonian Order in 2356, ships of this class could traverse the entirety of the Vyntadi and Tekara sector blocks by 2410. (VOY episodes: "Caretaker", "The Chute"; ST reference: The Official Starships Collection Issue 76 "Baxial"; CCG set: Holodeck Adventures, card: "Baxial - Salvage Ship"")

Technical specifications[]

The Drexia class entered service at some point in the 24th century. By 2371, the Baxial, a ship of the class, was considered old. Vessels of the class were 15 meters long and equipped with both phasers and warp drive. (ST reference: The Official Starships Collection Issue 76 "Baxial")

The Baxial doubled as a salvage ship and a small freighter. (ST reference: The Official Starships Collection Issue 76 "Baxial"; CCG set: Holodeck Adventures, card: "Baxial - Salvage Ship")

When operating with other ships, Drexia-class starships could survive combat with Kazon and Vaadwaur but were outmatched by Malon vessels. (STO - Delta Quadrant missions: "Reunion", "All That Glitters")

History[]

The trader Neelix acquired the Drexia-class freighter Baxial at some point after the Talaxian-Haakonian War ended in 2356, and before he visited the Ocampan homeworld in or before 2371.

In 2371, this type was first encountered by the Federation when the USS Voyager and Maquis raider Val Jean were trapped in the Delta Quadrant by the Nacene Caretaker. Neelix joined the crew of Voyager, and the Baxial was stored in one of its shuttlebays. (ST reference: The Official Starships Collection Issue 76 "Baxial"; VOY episode & novelization: Caretaker)

In 2373 and 2377, the Baxial was used by Voyager when a Federation shuttlecraft would have spoiled attempts at subterfuge. (VOY episodes: "The Chute", "Workforce")

Later in 2377, Neelix left with the Baxial to join the New Talax asteroid colony. The freighter was instrumental in the defense of the colony against Nocona. (VOY episode: "Homestead")

When the Alpha Quadrant Alliance returned to the Delta Quadrant in full force in 2410, their commanders established contact with Ambassador Neelix and his people in the Entaba asteroid colony. Kazon raiders attacked the colony but were fended off by Voyager, the Baxial and additional AQA support. The AQA then escorted a fleet of Talaxian ships to the planet New Talax for colonization. The fleet was unable to deal with the theta radiation around the planet and the incoming Malon forces. Luckily, the AQA escort neutralized the radiation and repelled the Malon attackers. (STO - Delta Quadrant mission: "Reunion")

The Vaadwaur Supremacy launched an attack on the Entaba colony in an attempt to neutralize the AQA as a new power in the region. (STO - Delta Quadrant mission: "All That Glitters")

The Vaadwaur attacked the Wayfarer in the Ram Izad system and was saved by an AQA vessel. (STO - Better with Friends mission: "Ram Izad System Patrol")
