The DujHod class was a name given to a Klingon transport ship in Imperial Defense Force service beginning from the 22nd century. By the early 25th century the DujHod was reclassified as a chariot and awarded to starship commanders of exceptional standing. (ENT episode: "Bounty", ST reference: The Official Starships Collection #71, STO - Empire mission: "The Hunt is On")
History and specifications[]
The 88 meters long DujHod class was launched in the 22nd century and in active service by the 2150s decade. At the time, it served as a transport ship. With its horseshoe design it was unusual among the bird-inspired Klingon fleet ships. For a transport ship, it was heavily armed, but the DujHod was outgunned by a Human NX-class starship but featured better sensors and a tractor beam generator. It carried seven escape pods, four disruptor cannons and one photon torpedo launcher at the front. It's maximum speed was warp factor 5. (ENT episode: "Bounty", ST reference: The Official Starships Collection #71)
In the 2160s, Captain Goroth commanded a DujHod and committed acts of piracy. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Live by the Code)
By the year 2409, the DujHod was considered the KDF counterpart - a general's chariot - to Starfleets captain's yacht an the Romulan Republican Force commander's gig. It was typically equipped with a crew of two and one disruptor bank and photon-torpedo launcher, with a 360° firing arc each. Like all other vessels of the era, it could be modified to achieve quantum slipstream and transwarp velocities, while cruising with a warp factor in excess of warp 9.9.
