The Duke-Heidelburg Quotient was a measure and ranking of Human extrasensory perception, similar to an esper rating or aperception quotient.
History and specifics[]
It was developed around the 22nd century with scientists at Duke University and Heidelberg University collaborating with Vulcans as a test for psychic potential. Members of the New Human movement had such quotients. (TOS novel: The Higher Frontier)
Elizabeth Dehner's personnel record noted that she had a Duke-Heidelburg Quotient of 256, considered higher than average. It was high enough that exposure to the energy in the galactic barrier granted her psychokinetic abilities. (TOS episode: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
Aboard the USS Enterprise in 2268, transporter operator Gaetano Petriello had a quotient of 255. Tactical officer Olivier Bouchard had a quotient of 260. (TOS novel: A Choice of Catastrophes)
