The Durrett-class was a Federation class VIII cruiser starship in Starfleet service in the 23rd century, becoming active on reference stardate 2/1509.
Specifications[]
The Durrett vessels crewed 320 crewmembers, with space to carry 10 passengers. Additionally, the Durrett could carry 10,000 metric tons of cargo, rated at 200 SCU (standard cargo units). Unloaded, the Durrett vessels weighed 101,400 metric tons. The Durrett-class measured 240 meters in length, 131 meters in width and 75 meters in height.
The Durrett computers were of the M-3 type, and the vessels were loaded with four standard (6-person) personnel transporters, two 22-person emergency stages and a two cargo transport stages. There were also four Federation shuttlecraft standard to these vessels' shuttlebays.
The Durrett warp engines were FWC-2 type, rated to cruise at warp factor 6 and max out at warp 8. Durrett vessels had impulse engines of the FIF-1 type. The Durrett vessels had four phaser emitters, of the FH-9 type, in two dual-mount phaser banks, with arcs of fire to fore, port and starboard. The vessels had photon torpedo FP-6 torpedo launcher weapon emplacements and were defended by FSL model deflector shields.
Service history[]
By the later half of the 23rd century, the Durrett was in full service production with over 108 units having been constructed. By the mid-2280s, 102 vessels were currently in service, with one vessel having been taken from service and detailed to Starfleet Training Command, with other vessels out of service due to 2 vessels having been destroyed and 2 vessels listed as missing. 1 vessel had been scrapped by that point. In the 2280s, the Durretts were produced at Venus's shipyards at a rate of about 14 per year. (FASA RPG module: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)

Background[]
Presumably, the first ship of this series would have been called USS Durrett, although such a vessel was never specifically named in the sources mentioning this class.
