Duwain was a female Ferengi, the daughter of Nix.
When Nix's herd of wooly slugs was threatened by a wild snailosaurus, Nix offered Duwain's hand in marriage to any slugboy who could stop the creature. No one responded to this offer.
Years later, after Nix gave up slug herding for Sleekback racing beetle breeding, Duwain also became a lover of racing beetles. She also had numerous affairs with her father's beetlejockeys, and would regularly party into the late night with them, drinking wormwine while indecently clothed. Duwain was particularly close to a jockey named Koob, who was killed during the Latinum Mandible beetle race. (DS9 reference: Legends of the Ferengi)
