In the Kelvin timeline, the ECS Fortunate was a United Earth starship, a J-class freighter and survey vessel in Federation Earth Cargo Service and Independent service in the 23rd century. (TOS video game: Star Trek Fleet Command)

History and specificationsEdit

The ECS Fortunate entered service in the 22nd century. (TOS video game: Star Trek Fleet Command)

It succeeded the Y-class ECS Fortunate (ECS-2801), in service as late as 2151. (ENT episode: "Fortunate Son")

By 2262, the Fortunate was propelled by a single, underslung warp nacelle. A cargo module attached on the rear of the drive section. Its design granted it a 15% bonus when mining parsteel compared to other Independent vessel types.

Around stardate 2262.45, the Fortunate and other ships of its class were among the vessels used by the Independent faction in the Neutral Zone. The ship found a berth at the friendly E-class starbase Home Station.

During the war between the Federation, Klingon Empire and Romulan Star Empire in the trilateral Neutral Zone, the Fortunate was one of the ships defending Home Station, aligned and non-aligned star systems in the contested zone from Nausicaans, Jelna, and other hostiles. The ship's weapons and capabilities could be upgraded at Home Station, and crew rotations were handled at the starbase as well. (TOS video game: Star Trek Fleet Command)
