The Eclipse was a Starfleet shuttlecraft. The shuttle was one of a complement of auxiliary craft assigned to the USS Robinson.
In 2386, the Eclipse and other shuttlecraft were launched from the Robinson to hold back attacking Glant vessels. The crew aboard the Eclipse were able to transport three crewmembers off the Transit before the Glant destroyed that shuttle. (DS9 novel: Original Sin)
