Edgardo Juarez was a human male serving in the Starfleet Medical division in the late 24th century. Juarez was a Starfleet nurse assigned to Deep Space 9 and the USS Defiant in the 2370s and 2380s.
Biography[]
In June 2376, Lieutenant Juarez was assigned to the Defiant during the three month mission of exploration in the Gamma Quadrant. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Twilight)
In July, Ensign Juarez, along with Thirishar ch'Thane, John Candlewood, and Aaron McCallum, was part of Ezri Dax's mediation team at Vanimel. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: This Gray Spirit)
Later the same month, Juarez injured his leg during an EVA assignment. He was consequently put on bed rest which meant that he wasn't able to assist in sickbay to treat injured D'Naali after they were rescued by the Defiant two days later. However, he insisted on returning to duty shortly afterwards to help Doctor Bashir and nurse Richter treat Ezri and Dax after their joining was rejected following exposure to the cathedral artifact's interdimensional wake. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Cathedral)
In August, Juarez worked with Bashir and Richter to remove Borg implants from Ruriko Tenmei who had been assimilated by the Borg in 2369 and was discovered in the wreckage of the assimilated USS Valkyrie. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Lesser Evil)
Juarez survived the Destruction of Deep Space 9 in 2383 and remained part of Doctor Bashir's medical staff on the new Deep Space 9 when it became fully operational in 2385. When President of the United Federation of Planets Nanietta Bacco was assassinated during DS9's opening ceremony, and the First Minister of the Third Republic of Bajor's chief of staff Enkar Sirsy was injured, Juarez assisted Bashir as he attended them. (ST - The Fall novel: Revelation and Dust)
