Ediz Kemal was a Human male, who served as enlisted in the Federation Starfleet, in the 22nd century.

Biography

By 2163, he served on the USS Pioneer in the security division with the rank of crewman, and was at tactical while armory officer Valeria Williams joined first officer Travis Mayweather's away team to Hansen's Planet, and he fired the torpedo that saved them from the attacking locals. On February 23, 2165, the Pioneer came across an automated facility, similar to the one that Enterprise encountered more than a decade ago. The crew learned that a person has been recently abducted from the commerce vessel Velelev and mounted a rescue operation. Lieutenant Williams led a small team to the station, including Kemal. When the team arrived in the recreational facility, one of the replicators materialized a weapon that turned Crewman Detzel into a glowing cloud of plasma, killing him instantly. This hit Kemal hard because of their former relationship, however he was able get his focus back and the team was able to retrieve two people from the station and returned to the Pioneer. In July of the same year, Kemal was part of a rescue team that was sent to the Pebru homeworld to extract all Starfleet personnel from the Pebru government building that came under seige by rioters. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Live by the Code)
