Edmund Spenser (1552 or 1553 - 13 January 1599) was an English poet who wrote the epic poem “The Faerie Queene” which was first published in 1590.

In the poem, Amoret was a beautiful heroine rescued by a hero from an evil magician.

Legacy[]

A female Human from the planet Rampart in the 24th century was named Amoret after the character. Rampartian Dissenters were all named after fictitious or mythological characters, and steeped themselves in the lore of their character. In 2366, Amoret restored the memories and personality of Jean-Luc Picard after all aspects of culture, creativity and imagination had been purged. (TNG novel: Gulliver's Fugitives)
