Edward Janeway was a human male in Starfleet in the 24th century.

He was the husband of Gretchen Janeway, and the father of two daughters, Kathryn and Phoebe. (VOY novel: Mosaic)

In the 2250s, Janeway had reached the rank of admiral, and represented the Federation, along with Ambassador Curzon Dax, in negotiations to bring the Bactricians into the Federation. (DS9 short story: "The Music Between the Notes")

Janeway died in 2358 on Tau Ceti Prime, following the crash of a prototype ship, the Terra Nova on the planet's polar ice cap. (VOY novel: Mosaic, episode: "Coda" )
