History

This class is similar in design to the Saladin, Hermes, Apollo class starships. The biggest difference is the secondary hull that most scout class vessels lack. This class was introduced at least 30 years before 2233. One such vessel, the starship USS Kelvin was in operational service by 2230.

It is possible that the Einstein class is a sub-type of the Saladin class or Hermes class.

There must have been a prototype USS Einstein which the class was named after, however no such ship is known.
