Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow: The following content contains spoilers!

Eisn (also known as Ket-cheleb or Stelam Rom'lnz or 128 Trianguli) was a spectral class G9 white star, primary of the Romulan system. The Federation name for the star was Romulus. (TNG video game: Echoes from the Past)

History

This area contained the home planets of the Romulan Star Empire, Romulus and Remus, as well as the moons Pirek and Elvreng. The system had a secondary star which is known as Romulus B. (TOS - Rihannsu novels: My Enemy, My Ally, The Romulan Way)

During the final battle of the Romulan Civil War in the year 2276, the crews of the USS Enterprise and ChR Bloodwing created a link between Eisn and Sol to defeat an attempt by the Three to destroy the Sol system with a sunkiller bomb. Ael t'Rllaillieu said in a public address that this event permanently bound the two stars together and any future attempts on either star would likewise affect the other, though she was bluffing. (TOS - Rihannsu novel: The Empty Chair)

In the mid-2380s, the Romulan Empire discovered their star was going to supernova within a matter of years. They asked the Federation for assistance in evacuating the 900 million inhabitants of the system. In 2387, after the Attack on Mars by rogue synthetic organisms destroyed the 10,000 vessels constructed to evacuate the Romulans and Remans, the Federation withdrew their assistance. Later that year, Eisn went supernova, destroying Romulus, Remus, and the other planets.

In 2387, Eisn was destroyed with the rest of the system in the shockwave caused by the Hobus supernova. (ST comic: "Countdown"; TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: Star Trek; STO website : The Path to 2409)

System

There were at least seven planets in the system:

The Rihannsu novels state that the system contained six planets whilst FASA material indicates that there were seven but the latter only numbers six as Remus orbits Romulus.
