"There is a huge difference between legitimizing a religion and accepting it. Yes, it is no longer against Cardassian law to be an Oralian, but that does not mean that we are welcomed, or even tolerated" - Ekosha

Ekosha was a Cardassian woman who lived in the 24th century. In the 2370s, she was a Cleric and the leader of the Oralian Way.

Biography[]

Feric Lakhat had attended a gathering overseen by Ekosha after the Oralian Way was made legal once again. Lakhat thought Ekosha was a fine ambassador for the Oralian Way and the Cardassian people. (DS9 novel: Cardassia: The Lotus Flower)

In 2376, Yevir Linjarin had Akellen Macet arrange a meeting between himself and Ekosha, as the Bajoran Vedek had hoped to build bridges between the Bajorans and the Cardassians through the Bajoran religion and the Oralians. Later, Ekosha met Yevir and Macet in the ruins of Lakarian City. Fearful of an attack, Ekosha used one of her followers as a decoy, although Macet was able to determine who the real Ekosha was. Ekosha later joined Macet, Yevir and Elim Garak in viewing the lost Orbs of the Prophet in a military bunker. Ekosha agreed to work with the Bajorans and the exchange of members of both groups to Cardassia and Bajor.

Ekosha and her followers were later transported by the Trager to Deep Space 9 to view the return of the orbs and the ceremony for Bajor's entry into the United Federation of Planets, although the latter was interrupted by Hiziki Gard's assassination of Shakaar Edon. (DS9 novel: Cathedral)

Later, Lenaris Holem gave permission for Ekosha and Yevir to travel to Bajor to take the Orbs home and to finalise the exchange of religious figures. (DS9 novel: Lesser Evil)

Ekosha remained on Bajor as part of the exchange and Yevir travelled to Cardassia. (DS9 novel: Cardassia: The Lotus Flower)

After construction of an Oralian temple at Janir, Ekosha invited Opaka Sulan to attend the first gathering of Cardassian followers of Oralius on Bajor. (DS9 novel: Bajor: Fragments and Omens)
